The risk of CO poisoning exists in closed rooms where devices are operated with wood, coal, heating oil or gas. For example, if heating systems are defective or inadequately maintained, or if a smoke exhaust is blocked or if rooms are not adequately ventilated, CO can get into the room air. Then it becomes dangerous – life-threatening! What's particularly tricky is that you can't see, smell or taste the dangerous gas.
